UI Animation + Planar Tracking.
By - armedialabs
Thanks man! 😊
That's so smooth! Did you plan out what you were gonna be doing first? Your fingers seemed to be following a thought and it looked awesome!
Thanks man! Yes. Everything was planned first. Had an idea in mind while shooting where the finger should go. UI animation was done accordingly.
Great design and great tracking! And love the distorted voice over.
Thank you! 😁
I hope one day we will have technology like this tbh
Possibly done with e-ink for low power consumption needs
Hope so.. 😊
Great concept and execution.
We do bro, it is called a smartphone haha
I think he means something simple like this that looks like real print
Kindle is a bit like this.
Clunky tech compared to this. I travel a ton like a lot. If I had a card like this in my wallet for booking cars planes whatever and just told me where I was going and how much I’d love it
The UI design is so cleaan
I'm very impressed with the DOF effect at the base of the card.
Thank you.. Glad you noticed that.. 😊
Where is it? It's so good that I don't even notice it, haha.
It's subtle, but really effective.
That was smooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooth
Thank yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooou!! 😁
Dammn this is good! I want to try doing something like that too. Nice job
Thank you! Continue with the work.. 😊
Great tracking! This is great work!
Thank you!! 😊
I legit thought this was a sponsored add before scrolling up to see it was just a post on this thread, *really* nice work in my opinion
Thanks bro.. 😁
Planar tracking: gold
All credits to Mocha AE.. 😊
I dont think mocha ae knows how to operate ae without assistance?
Awesome work — really made me dream of the future:)
Question; what was the original object you were holding and could you elaborate on your planar tracking (multiple, or did it track well the first time all the way thru). I’ve got a shoot with a mobile phone gag where the person goes through an app and is typing. Thanks
Thank you.. 😊
It was just a credit card with some black paper sticked on to it. The tracking was done in Mocha AE. For the tracking to work correctly, I sticked 4 small white paper pieces on 4 corners of the card. Its was later removed using Mocha AE itself. The tracking went well for the first 80% of the video. In the end portions I had to manually do some adjustments. Rotoscoping was also done in Mocha AE..
Thank you for your response! Oh so you did have to roto the thumb and fingers? Do you think you could just use a green card with white trackers and key out the green? I guess you would still need to roto a bit. The mascot costume I’m working with has hairy paws so this might be a challenge:)
Thanks for helping me think it out!
Yeah! Rotoscoped finger using Mocha AE Also I wanted the black texture to look realistic. So I didn't use a green card. And all the best for your project.. 😊
Awesome a really great point; you think there would be spill from the green card?
Oh shweeet!! Great work with the focus blur as well
Thank you.. 😊
Noob here. Where do I look, I dont see the focus blur referred too.
Towards the end when the card gets closer to the camera you see a shallow depth of field blur at the base of the card. So thoughtful!
Woah... Beautiful 🥰
Thank you.. 🥰
This is so cool. Well done
Beautiful, smooth, minimalistic. Great work mate! This should be the baseline UX devs shoot for when it goes to market. Well done
Thanks a lot bro.. 😊🥰
Great work on this. Looks really realistic. 👌
Thanks bro.. 😊
love the textures and the trasnparencies . tight
Very nice! Did you rotoscope the thumb, or did you use Keylight?
Rotoscoped in Mocha AE.
This is wild, incredible job!
I love the clean look of this! My only tiny nitpick is that it doesn't have feedback based on where you're touching aside from the initial fingerprint scan, but it's very well done. Doesn't bother me when you're switching the passenger count, just on the planet selection and day.
Thank you.. 😊
Yes, I know it's not perfect. I will try to improve next time. I work on a slow 4gb i3 4th gen computer. Its hard to get a realtime preview of the composition before rendering. So I had to render it many times for improvements and finally came up with this one.
I'm impressed you did it with a rig like that! You are right, those previews get really rough in AE, and I've definitely given up on messing with stuff for the same reasons. :D
I’m sorry, hope you feel better soon
This is gorgeous! I would love to see a breakdown of this!
Ooooo so satisfying. The graphics, the sound design, tracking, masking... It's all on point.
great animation but fuck elon
Yeah, fuck the guy that's trying to make a difference!
dude he could end malaria. forever. and still be a billionaire. but he wants to bring humans to an inhospitable desert planet instead of saving this one. he's not making a difference, he's just making himself rich!
My net worth has doubled in the past two years because the housing market went up and an asset that I own increased in value. That does not mean that I have more money in the bank. It's just a number on a paper. Sure, I could convert that asset to dollars, but then I would be without a home.
Elon Musk's net worth went up because an asset that he owns, Tesla stock, went up in value. That does not mean that he has more money in the bank. It just means a number on a piece of paper went up. Sure, he could convert those assets to dollars, but then he is giving up the company that he helped build.
If you do any amount of research on the man, you will see that he is not driven by profits. He has wealth as a consequence of building successful companies, not from profit hunting.
Nice job but Elon Musk is a fucking idiot just FYI
I know he’s very popular in certain circles but he talks a whole lot about stuff he is clearly very ignorant on, also a COVID denier that doesn’t care about the well being of his workers. I get it he’s a great meme but he really is a dipshit.
Nice! You should Tweet this to Elon, bet he’d love it.
haha.. sure.. will do.. 😁
But with millions of followers he is not even going to notice it..
Wow this is amazing!
How was did you get the DOF?
This was done 1 year ago. I think it was done using a masked adjustment layer with fast blur applied to it.
I see, thanks!
Wow, that was amazing! The depth of field effect at the end really added to the immersion. Keep it up!
Damn near flawless tracking. Really solid work.
Man that’s a great job. Very well done on both the compositing and UI design!
Future e-ink. Would love to see it used like this
Did you mask all frames that hand come over the card ?
That is really neat. Seamless. Great job.
So amazing. Would love to learn how to do this. What inspired this or did you see any tutorials?
This is so realistic! Flawless
That's awesome and very clean! Bonus points for Starship :P
$5k a ticket? Sign me up
Incredible! Wonder when I can make one my own @@
\*pats on the back
really cool, kinda cringe beeing a musk stan. still cool
The fact that it really looks like ink is just amazing. Doesn't look weird at all, honestly I could see this in a feature film
It's been said many times, but this really is incredible work. Great job!
This is now the benchmark of what I aspire to be capable of one day haha
This is very cool. Also amused by the fact you're using Space Mono! Very appropriate.
Awesome work, but that date picker is not good mobile UX.
Do you have dribbble/ behance/ ig/ twitter? I need to follow you everywhere. Thanks!
Hey, that's awesome work! I have an idea regarding a way to spice up the PIN to drive screen in a Tesla i'd like to run by you, maybe you'd wanna mock it up sometime? I'm sure you're not bored, but can I dm it to you?
Nice! Very solid work there
Talent! Clean! Omg...
Great masterpiece! But i noticed you pressed the fingerprint by the side of your finger so it can't skan your fingerprint
