I made an infographic of the most popular cryptocurrencies by category
By - Wargizmo
This is the kind of post that I yearn for.
Informative, colourful, and easy-to-read..... this deserves a Gold Star!
I never thought I'd have to say this but Mr Nutty Joe is right
You will find yourself saying that more and more as life goes on!
Uncle Joe, that you ?
Petition to make Reddit accept moons for awarding people directly, who's in ?
You can convert your moons to reddit coins on the side bar to give awards. The conversion rate is terrible though. I highly suggest against it.
Yeah so better to pay directly in moon right ? Like 30 Moons for a Gold or something like that
I think a system like that would be great. I'd feel better about it if the moon to award ratio fluctuated based on the current moon price.
It would require a lot of tech to make the system work like that though.
Thats probably not possible because its a fixed distribution.
Awards are useless. Just tip them directly with moons lol.
But they won't get that special effect on their comment tho :/
Nothing gives that special feeling like extra moons.
Give them the “full moon effect” instead of a fraction of a Reddit coin
If there are gas fees giving a tip would need some extra math (a bot) and earning/buying moons would have to be site wide rather than just here in r/cc
This deserves to be tipped moons!
Also: I like that OP added small symbols to each category. Makes it more visually appealing!
You also *learn* and *earn from* it!
i learned that im a sucker for hype lol, i got all the popular coins.
so, you yolo'ed your life savings into shitba inu at the all time highs ?
I sure did. Was somehow also able to sell it just now
Not that you need a table for that lol
You can use a table for popularity like celebrity charts...
instead of celebrity it shows how a coin is doing and which one is going to ruin it’s career because of hopium abuse...
You can also burn or turn your portfolio around if you spend too much time here
If it rhymes it must be true!
And OP added moons to it too.
Yep, the rare gems of the sub
Well done and very informative
We should appreciate this kind of works more in this subreddit
We do friend
I'm doing my part!
I did my work and upvoted the OP!
Perhaps the best OC I've seen on here.
This should go on all of our kitchen refrigerators
As a newbie, I love this kind of simple charts a lot!
Yeah, these posts are informative for both newbies and experts so it's really great.
The opposite of a shitpost
Love me some chart to learn each coin’s function easier, kudos OP
We need to appreciate this kind of informative posts! I'm tired of seeing all those moonfarming posts lol
Not for the deepest depths of research, but perfect to get you started if you don't now what you looking for
As a newbie, I appreciate this kind of simple charts a lot
I hear you. Just be sure to spend some hours researching the ones that interest you ;)
I wonder what totally new categories will be invented over the next 12 months…? Such an exciting space
We are still too early IMO. Future of cryptos is exciting.
I mean, there's not much to wonder. Look at Specialized Coins. That is essentially "miscellaneous". The coins in that category will ebb and flow as the industry evolves, but at any moment, you could take the top "miscellaneous" coins and put them into their own category.
I like how XMR is the first one.
Unless you're the IRS, You just can't hate XMR
It's what I thought Bitcoin was when I first got into crypto.
Monero is like that one kid in you high school you never expected to do good and he goes on to become the CEO of a big ass company
XMR, you the real BTC
I tell BTC she's my main chick but I got a secret sidepiece
I want to be like you when I grow up...
Monero, my precious, mysterious coin.
Its what I thought every crypto was
Because It gives you true privacy...
Privacy is the most important thing, especially in these times..
That's a very important niche in crypto. Complete privacy is a must, when we'll be "regulated".
What exchange do you suggest I use to buy some? (It's not available on coinbase aka what I use)
You can get it on Kraken much the way you use Coinbase. There is also stuff like cake wallet to convert other coins and atomicswaps are recently available but not very user friendly yet.
Kraken is also not user friendly if you’re trying to use USD.
I still think the same to this day.
Monero is everything the general public thinks what bitcoin is.
*Now, let's discuss about the arrangements for the boating accidents before the IRS hits us ?*
It’s listed under “store of value”; ironically, Monero is used to *actually buy things* more than any other cryptocurrency.
It actually is *crypto*, and *currency*.
You're not reading the graphic properly, the only one in the store of value portion is BTC and it overlaps into another category.
I made the same mistake. I think the graphic needs a slight tweak to let the viewer grasp that it isn't hierarchical, especially since the graphic seems designed as a teaching tool.
It's listed under Privacy Coins not store of value
Hot take: privacy shouldn’t be an add-on feature, but a fundamental.
Looks like both
Privacy is a subset of the store of value section. The way I see it monero is a privacy coin that should span the store of value and currency sections
But Monero is inflationary? Or am I wrong? Bitcoin is considered a store of value because of it’s network security and the supply cap.
Monero like a fine wine - only getting better with time
It will be importanter when we'll face real regulation.
Will be interesting af to see who prevails - regulators or fundamental XMR's use-case
I want to know why it’s bot under currency as well. It’s the closest thing to actual digital money on this sheet
XMR is what BTC always wanted to be
If someone hates XMR he is probably a federal agent
Ugh i hate those people
Or waving an american flag while sharing memes about cops rescuing puppies
OP your Post must be be pinned in the top by the Mods on this subreddit. Very informative
I agree, posts like these with lots of effort and TA should be rewarded!
*Am I doing this right ?*
Only thing i woudl change is putting Privacy coins under Currency and not under Store of Value.
Monero is arguably the only real usable currency at the moment.
This is probably the only post I'll save and actually go back to lol
Why isn't Monero a currency?
People need to take their heads out their asses.
Some others here were saying it's just because the infographic is a bit funky, like "store of value" was on top and privacy coins was underneath but not supposed to be a subset of SoV
My coin is the best.
Better than the rest!
People travel across the land. Searching far and wide for my coin.
And they cannot find it.
Because the coin was in our hearts all along.
The real coin was the one we made along the way
Journey before destination!
I'm listening to Oathbringer right now, this is tripping me out
I was hoping someone would get the reference! You're in for a treat if it's your first time experiencing Oathbringer.
We made coins??
So \*ahem\* I can do this rug pull thingy?
enter scammers: prepare for trouble!
Mate, I've been taking advice from Mr. Forex Guru and he has helped me get 6969% on my money in just 69 days. I can help him meet you in person, would you be interested ?
Better than anycoin.
Now and always.
You are right cow
And you too Eagle
Happy hunting cow
Sir is this Reddit or a zoo?
Sir, this is a fish market
But Everyone's yelling it's a 🦀🦀🦀 market ?
No. You are the best :)
Yes, only the best people have the best coin.
He said that for me last week. I think hes lying to us :'(
u/unfilteredvoice how could you!
Is it your mom coin
What a surprise, mine too!
I am noticing a pattern here.
Is your coin moon?
So, your coin is ‘the best’...
Rewards for shitposting 😂😂 very funny
Cro has its own blockchain as well, crypto.org
Forgot to put Stellar at stablecoins
Plz tell my wallet that it’s a stable coin 🙏🏽
Good for people just getting into crypto
BTC, Stellar and Vechain only ones that are multipurpose. Oh.. and ShibaInu.
Happy to be owning the first 3 lmao
To be fair I think a few of them could probably go in multiple categories. Technically any of them could be used as currency.
Oh for sure especially with Algorand and it's functional p2p wallet.
Perhaps you can add another column for Pancake Swap created rug pull meme tokens? "Quick 100x scam coins"?
Solid work here - interesting to see how some are broken down.
The column would be too big to fit on screen. I was thinking of doing an A to Z of rugs post.
Plus you'd probably need subcategories like "confirmed rug pulls" and "suspected rug pulls".
Under suspected rug pulls: *(every damn coin)*
Logic: "But developers of ___ don't own any of the coin!"
Some idiot: "Suuuure they don't. Do the research!"
You'd need to build an entire blockchain to record the names
Pancakeswap belongs in defi tab for sure... Main defi platform on Binance smart chain.. rug pulls are literally on every defi platform.
This is what this sub needs more of, here have an award mate.
Gotta catch 'em all!
Nice job, though few corrections might be needed: For example Celsius, Nexo and Swissborg for sure are not decentralized, they are very much centralized.
When your shitcoin bag is not at all present on this chart: :/
Dash is not a privacy coin. Even the dev team said so.
Seeing ICP ranked just under LINK makes me feel…uncomfortable
NANO actually belongs to SoV category also. It actually has better SoV property than BTC since all coins are in circulation therefore NANO has 0% inflation whereas BTC has 1.79%
LOL. Still down 95.1% vs. Bitcoin.
Looks good to me chief. I’m currently 212% YTD on NANO, while BTC is 5%
Moons aren't cryptocurrency, cool infographic though!
What would they be considered?
You know, besides *a reward for shitposting*
took me a minute to find BTC xD
Lol same here!
Reminds me on a Teletext on a TV. That's how we would probably get info about Crypto in early 2000.
Teletext was the bomb. I used to update a teletext page with cricket Scores as a summer job.
This is exactly what I've been dreaming of. Awesome work man! Unfortunately all I can do I upvote and save this post. Would award you like crazy if I could :*
Wow, nice! I like how its simple enough for an outsider/casual to understand!
That's pretty cool, thanks a lot!
This is really useful mate love an infographic
This is really useful information. Great job and thank you!
Pretty good, OP!
Great post! Keep it up bro, thank you!!
Good to see something useful. Thank you Sir.
That is awesome!
This is extremely helpful, it helped me understand the uses of cryptocurrencies i havent used or read about yet.
Thanks, take my humble upvote.
When I get my next free award , I'm coming back here and giving it to you! Good job!
DERO Privacy coin
Thanks for this list
I'd say that Harmony ONE could also be in Meta Chains.
May I put forward DERO as a privacy coin.
isnt ontology dead?
Got some mistakes man
Decred for instance is more in a SOV or p2p currency category. Decred is not a voting platform but a coin which has a governance system
It's like BTC but is a POS/POW hybrid coin so holders can participate in a inflation and not just miners. Plus the governance and the treasury and optional privacy
This is awesome! Definitely saving and sharing it.
- USDC is misspelled CSDC
Kinda excited that “my coin” isn’t on there yet. [Accumulating]
Hey, thanks so much, will be sharing with all my friends!
Yur love to see harmony one!
This is awesome. Is XLM missing?
Love the charts
I have saved this for reference, thank you.
Good work. I see DOGE more in the currency category though.
Elrond to the moon
Shiba and MOON but no Safemoon? Interesting.
I’m a sucker for charts and tables.
I can suck for charts and table. Good job OP
Do you accept bar charts or line charts?
Get down to business
Thats my secret cow , I'm always down to business
That's indeed the best way.
Till next time
Oops, small error, Dogecoin is actually a currency coin. Intended to be used as a currency.
Also, lots of the current top 50 coins were memes too? TRON and BitTorrent becoming coins for example. Even USDC was a meme when Tether was first questioned until someone finally made it and gave us an alternative to use.
Don’t bother mate.
This place is a complete circle jerk for its favourite coins. Even if a coin like Doge has widespread appeal and investment, people just close their eyes and block themselves to reality. They’ve been saying the coin “is dead” ever since it’s inception and yet it’s been Top 10 as long as BTC and ETH Lol.
Yeah Doge has consistently been a top 10 coin, I believe it was even briefly the #3 coin on the chart at one point, and it seems to be constantly performing and holding value better than everyone predicts, especially on this sub lol. For all the shit it gets, it's honestly been one of if not the best performer in my portfolio so far. :)
Surprised to see SOL right behind ADA with how little this sub talks about it
Idk if this sub not talking about it is a bad thing tbh.
From your comment, I'm not sure if you're pro SOL
I like SOL but my point was the most talked about crypto projects on this sub aren’t necessarily the best projects. Lots of shills and bag holders as well as just undereducated investors.
Amen. You'd think Doge and Shiba Inu are the cutting edge of what cryptocurrency is capable of by listening to the masses here.
Including Shiba and not SafeMoon smh
I laughed when I saw the toilet paper 🧻. No offense I myself heavily invested in that coins. But your humor is the finest
Toilet paper - what everyone needs, everyone uses, and everyone has in their home. The thing people hoard when pandemic strikes. The thing we are all happy to have on hand. And start to panic when it runs low. It may be treated as worthless, but find someone who would want to go a week without it.
Not everyone has bars of gold in their house.
Everyone has tp.
Perfect symbol, really.
