Four Rifles and a Shotgun
By - mcweaponry
I’m only interested if it can fire all five at once.
Sadly it can only fire 3 at once. Maybe even only two.
Possibly just one 🙁
Na, there are two hammers with a selector for each hammer for each rifle barrel. I dont know how the shotgun is fired though.
I like to think that if you fire two rifle barrels at once, it's designed so the shock also fires the shotgun. Because you must be in a bad situation at that point, might as well do as much damage as you can!
When everything in that general direction needs to die!
“Give them a volley”
Unless you were trying to shoot two apples off of someone’s head…
I knew I was missing something in my life.
Just imagine the recoil from shooting all 5 at the same time.
Veirlings are often chambered in 9.3x74r and 16 gauge.
I think this qualifies as a fünfling if we follow the pattern.
I don’t doubt that, I’ve never encountered a funfling in the wild so I have no clue what common chambering may be. I’d imagine it would be the typical 1800s safari calibers but holy smokes, can you imagine lugging that sucker around Africa?
I’m sure they had people to do the carrying…
Like golf caddies minus the pay, the respect, maybe food and water, etc.
For some reason giving your underpaid and underfed caddy your 5 barrel rifle seems like a recipe for disaster.
Please tell me it ended in disaster.
Here are [More pictures](http://imgur.com/gallery/AvEHtcr) including calibers.
WTF are those cartridges? Can you even get that anymore?
Besides the 16g that is...
That was an interesting rabbit hole looking up those cartridges and they appear to be rare. Also it may not contain enough info or it may be wrong.
9.1x52R. Is a Brazillian version of the old German 9.1x40R and is loaded with ball or shot. (I would want this one double checked before I got reloading equipment as the to two barrels being chambered in a Brazilian shotgun round is odd).
9.3x82R is a classic but there are at least three varients thst went by 9.3x82R. Most likely the 9.3x82R Nimrod.
The 11x74R is an odd one. 9.3x74R is a classic but there was no info to be found on 11x74R. I couldn't even find something that was terribly close.
Short answer good luck reloading you might be able to find 9.3x82R brass. It at least was sold out.
I had to pull out Cartridges of the World, and nothing even close to 11x74 of any sort.
I'd almost be willing to bet the label is wrong, and the 11x74R is something else.
My books show a ton of 11x72r, but nothing 11x74r. I'm guessing it may have been setup for a paper patched cartridge, and the gunsmith who did a chamber cast just took measurements from the chamber cast and called it good.
At the same time, this could have been chambered for a custom cartridge. I mean there would have been plenty of money exchanging hands that it's certainly not out of the question.
You have to hand load them. This is from a time when black powder cartridges were still cutting edge technology.
You mean smokeless powder? 1890-1900 was when nitro / smokeless powder was the new hot stuff on the block.
Smokeless powder wasnt invented until 1884, and didnt become the favored powder choice until around 1910.
sooooo, it was "cutting edge" in 1890-1900
Smokeless was still experimental at this point.
Sounds fine in German.
And that's how with a few minor adjustments, you can turn one gun into five guns.
Fuck that area in particular.
My friend works at an auction house and just sent me this picture. Way to cool not to show the internet. This is the only picture I have, and I dont know what calibers/gauge it is.

"Liberated" from a museum at the end of WWII, eh?
If the tag is to be believed, yep.
Need more op!
There is no more. This is the internet, cool pictures only.
What year was this produced or at least century?
Germany somewhere between 1890 and 1900.
What!? They only had single shot firearms back then! /s
What’s the price tag on something like this? Too cool
Most likely more than most people can afford.
Most people can’t afford a Glock, can you narrow it down for us?
Think more expensive than a nice car.
Damn. You mean one with window cranks instead of locking pliers? Who do I look like Warren Buffet?
Lol. A brand new Westly Richard's or Holland & Holland double rifle starts around 100,000£. A vierling or fünfling could easily run twice that for the base price. "More than a decent to nice house" might be a better price to put on this.
I hate shit answers like this. Just because you dont' buy a guy in the 100k range, don't make dumb-mystery by not just saying the potential range. Do your part, let other people do theirs.
It's an auction house. It could not sell due to reserve, or it could go for 500k. My guess is as good as yours. The only inside info I have is that I'm friends with the guy tagging it and his guess is also as good as anyone else's.
Just depends on if the right people are there that day, how badly they want it, and if there's at least two of them.
New-production German Drillings and Vierlings go for roughly 10-35k from what I found in a quick google search.
This one has one more barrel and comparable decorations than a few models I saw, so my guess would be to the mid/upper end of that range. Adjusted for inflation I'd guess it was a >20k gun at the time it was made.
No more pics of the detail work around those hammers? Beautiful!
Unfortunately not yet. Keep an eye on the two big auction houses though, I have it on good word it will be going for auction.
Hopefully Ian sees it and does a video, just because it's cool.
Ian tends to avoid sporting arms unfortunately.
Yeah but he HAS done a few of the weirder ones, especially older ones. This would most certainly qualify for both weird and old.
True. I would watch it if he did.
The thing would be a **beast** to carry!
Well, if you expend all 5 options, you can always resort to hitting them with it.
Can you share the auction house? Or at least an area to narrow my search?
One of the pictures shows all the various calibers
Would this be sage to run modern ammo? Or would would it have to be black powder cartridges? Odd chamberings. Can someone possible link the wiki pages to the appropriate ammo? I'm really curious and having trouble figuring out what it fires using the tab info.
The original cartridges would have been loaded with black powder. A crafty reloader could work up some smokeless loads using something like imr 4198 or similar though.
You'll most likely not find a wiki article on the ammo as they're long obsolete and obscure cartridges.
The chamber open like that looks like brass knuckles. I thus dub the gun: Thunder Knuckles
Whaaat? It’s like a shoulder mounted LeMat. Really cool. Agree need more info OP!
I will ask and update with anything I find out.

You all ain't even trying.
Worked for me. I don't understand why you didn't find this comment.
There have been other odd duck multibarrel long guns posted, and when I commented that there are things like this, folks couldn't/wouldn't believe it. Thank you for posting this, this helps prove my point.
After seeing the sword with a mini cannon on the handguard... Little surprises me anymore.
Fucking what now
There have been steel shields built with muzzle loading pistols, some multiple sets, and mini mortars. The mortars weren't meant to be fired while holding the shield, but the other setups were. If you can imagine it, it's been done at some point by someone. Some "recent" (early to mid 1900's) shield builds used handguns and submachine guns, designed to give certain countries the edge during wartime. None were ever formally adopted, but some of the prototypes were pretty cool.
What a beautiful thing. What's it weigh?
10 boxes you may be moving.
The real metric system
wow this is awful, seems super heavy and bulky, very unpractical
i want one
It was probably used for big game hunting. Switching to another rifle or taking time to reload was considered the less practical option while you were being charged by a pissed off Hippo or something.
Alright, fuck this aiming shit, I got a shotty!
Thats a really beautiful piece
*Urge to rip and tear increases*
Doom music starts...
When I saw the gun I started humming 'The only thing they fear is you'
Walk into a bar...
....and the barman says "I don't reckon you lot will have any luck with the ladies tonight. You're all big bores."
Well played, you are a person of fine caliber.
Can I get an ankle holster for it?
Zap carry 😋
The spiritual sequel to two turntables and a microphone.
Name of weapon?
Ain't got time for all that reloading nonsense.

Durr, more is done to protect ducks than children in this country!
Right? I mean it's perfectly legal to bag any one male child over 150 lbs every single year!
Because fuck your shoulder and anything staining In front of you
If I had awards....I would award this statement. But I do give you all of my upvotes.
Just going to add this to the "I need it" list...
Big dick dangerous game hunter.
* Walk into a bar
Oh fuck yea bud!
How I miss the *Double Gun Journal*. :'(
Doomguy: *heavy breathing*
Huuuunnnnnnnnnnhhhhhhhh ( I want one)
*ripping and tearing intensifies*
Man and I thought the drilling was different
Oh....oh....I WANT THIS!
I love the subtle details!
Cutting a bit off the end of the barrel gives you some knuckle dusters
A fleshlight I can use with friends.
I must still be waking up, my brain was like “oooh kitty paws” a full 2 seconds before I realized it was a gun
A man of culture I see.
What is this beast!!!
So very cool.
What in the Gun Jesus is this?
I believe it is jesus' gun. Now if we can make it belt fed.....
"nobody needs a gun that can fire 5 rounds"
Don’t be surprised if Doomguy Slipgates in and takes it.
Pretty sure that's illegal under the current administration.
That much fun has to be illegal
I am unfamiliar with this gun, what is it? Looks either photoshopped very well or something incredibly custom
Vintage and antique firearms don't need Photoshop. There was an unreal amount of strange shit going on back in the day. There was a 21 round revolver that had multiple barrels stacked on top of each other, absurdly large punt guns, insane rifle/shotgun combos, knife guns, brass knuckle guns, guns without barrels, pistols with individual barrels for each round, you name it. Shit was wild.
On one hand it's kind of boring how similar most modern firearms are.
On the other hand we figured out what works and what is practical, and a lot of those crazy old designs weren't.
Exactly. Back in those days basically anything went but reliability and quality was pretty lacking. There are some examples of antique firearms that are superb even by today's standards, but across the board quality was pretty low. Nowadays you can walk into any gun shop or even Walmart and buy a rifle that will work. It'll get the job done and most likely not try to kill you but they're pretty boring for the most part.
Welcome to the world of vintage firearms. This was made long before photoshop existed.
It is a classic combination gun. Most are Drilings (three barrels) usually 2 rifled barrels with a underslung shotgun barrel for the third. I have 4 barreled versions before but this is the first 5 barreled one I have come across. They are almost always German made.
Useful when you are hunting and want to be ready to shoot what ever pops up. Duck then use the shotgun, wild boar runs out next then get it with the rifle.
It reminds me of a blunderbuss and it's awesome
I get that. And I want both bit hopefully a drilling in less obscure calibers.
It reminds me of a paw lol. That’s pretty cool
Looks like a paw print
Only interested if it has a pistol also. Why do they always leave out the pistol???
This is a call of duty zombies wonder weapon
A weld shop, some plumbing pipe, and a dream
Well... The shotgun if for if you miss 4times and they are getting closer to kick your ass
ATF shoots you...
"HE HAD A PAW"
Tell me you can’t hit shit without telling me you can’t hit shit...
Holy crap, and I thought my drilling gun was serious …
I’m case you ever need to cut a motherfucker in half very quickly
It is a beauty
When you're too tired to reload
Ah yes; the M30 Luftwaffe upgrade; the M35
It’s the blundergat from call of duty back ops 2
You can get these made today to run on current rounds.
From the low end with a .22LR barrel all the way up to custom, 3+ caliber setups.
Those are all over/under combination guns.
They're combination guns, yes. They're examples of the type and of what is available off-the-shelf today.
You can buy drillings and vierlings newly manufactured if you have the money to do so.
Imagine having this in the late 1800's, you'd be the coolest fucking cowboy
Imagine having this now. You'd be the coolest person on the planet.
Dear god, that thing must be heavy. I doubt I could point it with any control whatsoever.
That gun must be so heavy..
I would think so.
At least 5 more
What model of gun is this?
There isnt really a model like there are models today. At level it's more like the customer would order what they wanted and the gunsmith would figure out how to make it happen based on a few different types of actions. Something like this was most likely a one off though and was built from scratch to fit the specific order.
Damn. Gotta go find me a gunsmith
I pity the fool
How much does this beast weigh?
Imagine having a speedloader for this
Now that would be awesome!
That’s the gun from Alcatraz. I know it.
Seems like a solid way to kill things dealer
That is a chungoid M30
A Destiny Exotic shotgun? Nice.
its a dog paw! i need one
r/ForgottenWeapons would love this.
You pack a punched the drilling
Holy shit it’s the blundergat. COD zombies players know what I’m talking about...
When they find bodies with dog paw shaped bullet holes they'll know who did it.
The Paw-Patroller 8000
Ok now chamber the rifles in 700 and the shotgun in 10 gauge (it’s a joke I’m not trying to come across as an asshole)
Why not 8 bore?
