Imagine harass someone for having their own taste
By - Yeet_Yeet_Yeet12
Fun fact: Hawaiian pizza was invented in Canada by a Greek Immigrant.
Adding insult to injury aren't you...
Rubbing pineapple on the wounds..
Rubbing wounds on the pineapple...
and then eating the wounds...
did the ancestors call pineapples pineapples because they look like a fusion of pine cones and apples?
Deep dish pizza isn't authentic in the least and is more of a casserole than any Italian cuisine known. It was invented by the guy who founded Pizzeria Uno in Chicago.
UNO is the worse anyways. It’s all about Lou Malnati’s.
Lou's is where people of class and distinction go for their pizza
“It's a cornbread biscuit which you've melted cheese on and then, in defiance of God and man and all things holy, you poured uncooked marinara sauce atop the cheese. Atop! The cheese on top, the sauce naked, cold, on display like some sort of sauce whore.” — *Jon Stewart*
So i never tried it and I assumed it was you know sauce and then a lot of cheese, then a week ago ( had deep dish pizza and was astonished why the fuck it was backwards and why the dough felt all hard and weird, now this description really does it justice. It's not pizza, it's a saucy whore.
an insult to deep dish is an insult to me, now put em up
If you got a problem with Deep Dish you got a problem with me and I suggest you let that one marinate.
Mmm, marinate it in teriyaki!
Understood that reference
That would explain why it's so popular here in Canada
Well I guess that explains the Canadian bacon! Though I guess it's mostly been replaced by ham at this point, particularly in the US.
*something something cultural appropriation something something*
side note: tomatoes are from the Americas so were the Italians also culturally appropriating.
Tomatoes came to Italy from Peru in the 1770's.
What we call Pizza today came about in the 1810's (maybe slightly earlier, but not before the introduction of the tomato).
Before that, flatbread dishes were popular going back over a thousand years.
Fun fact! Pizza comes from the word Pita!
If we want to use literature to date it something akin to pizza was shown in the Aeneid, it was more like the facci I veccia (flatbread cooked with oregano oil salt and rosemary) than modern pizza, but it is there
The more you know
I don't believe that balloon has ever been to Italian school.
sacre ble......... *pop*
Is'nt that french? Wouldn't it be more like "mumma mia"?
OP didn’t see the banner the Italian fans had at the Euros.
What was it?
I love that they had a sign that said “risotto is better than paella”
oh wow. hahaha good call
It actually is tho
That site gave cancer to my phone
"Has it ever been home" Ah, so that's now my favourite comment about competitive football ever
Where the fuck did they put the photo? Goddamn, that website looks like it's stuck in 2016. If they're gonna put ads in, at the very least put the fucking photo of the topic first.
Who says it’s offensive towards Italians lol?
Almost nowhere. People see some random opinion on twitter/online and think that’s the real world and get mad about it. Outrage media really
I know my Italian friend says it. But as a joke
ye we usually joke on this _even if some of us really hate pineapple on pizza_
I mean pineapple on pizza is just gross though. It's not offensive other than the fact that it shouldn't happen.
Here in Naples it's illegal to put pineapple on pizza. Perhaps not all Italians find it insulting, but I have met several Neapolitans who do.
*I have met several Napoleons who do*
True rebels, although I should have explained it is only illegal to serve non-traditional pizza in the city centre and only commercially.
Napoli has spoken!
Entire threads are an indignant overreaction to opinions held by *very* few people.
And sometimes those threads are just an excuse for people to be slightly more open about their bigotry
22% of Americans have Twitter and 97% of tweets are made by 5% of users so basically Twitter is 500 people arguing with each other trying to be as crazy as possible to go viral, and then the media picks it up because it's an easy way to write a story and treat it like a representative sample, and they can say "lots of people are saying that..." and then ma and pa Smith see the story on their Facebook news feed and think that's what really happening in the world. It's sad.
By your numbers that would mean 97% of tweets are made by 3 million Americans but close.
Does OP know Italians are also white?
Americans have a very bad obsession with race
me , im a tialian born in the city of milano in Lombardia and change city to the puglia at 7year and now a certifiched 14yo italian
As an Italian, what is your opinion on putting bacon bits and pepperoni on pizza?
Pepperoni is the american name for spicy sausages? It is typical in italy to put those. Bacon slices are perfect too. 16 yo italian here.
Pinapple on pizza feels just wrong
Certified Dane here.
Sailing anywhere not using a longboat is just wrong!!!
You can say that pineapple is bad on Pizza, not gonna stop anyone who likes it from doing it. I don't like it though.
I really like pineapple. I'll eat it plain or as a juice and when I was a kid, loved eating ham and pineapple pizza. Nowadays, I don't mind it but I know there are better choices.
Wait until you hear about the "super kebab special" we have here in Sweden!
I am italian, kebab on pizza is great, no further comment
Pepperoni is a mildly spicy American salami.
At long last we can lay this matter to rest!
Americans who are from Italian blood think the weirdest and dumbest shit about Italians.
Just because your grandma didn't make your grandpa pull out doesn't mean you know how Italian food should be made us bunch of wannabes.
Sounds like my (ex) stepmoms family. Italian surname. But they immigrated 5-6 generations back. They always talked about how they were Italian and can cook.
They were all terrible cooks. And to boot, none of them made anything remotely Italian or Italian-American other than pasta with a jar of Ragu sauce.
The worst are the ones who make their whole identity about being of Italian descent, and there is a trace of racial superiority in all that. Which is odd, because when my dad came here on a boat, he was considered sub human. Now Italians who have a modicum of success shit upon all the other immigrants, like mierda mia, mierda bona.
My family does this, and we are not even Italian..... They get pissed when I remind them of that. We passed through Italy when we immigrated.... So for some of them that's enough.
As my Nonno used to say... everyone around the Mediterranean used to be Italian at one point or another.
14 year olds on reddit. it literally says on the meme, dude
people trying to act tough on the internet, when I went to Italy they had pizza with pears on it, lmao.
You clearly aren’t Italian
The worse part is:
> "white redditor"
Like... The fuck does race have to do with anything here? I have seen countless people of all ages, race and sex make the "pineapple bad" comment.
In terms of a community, the fact its as upvoted as it is shows how braindead people are. Really big fascination on race on the platform with a big need to validates ones one sex/gender for a anonymous platform.
Social media is a thriving normalized cancer.
Also implying italians aren’t white ...?
My Italian friend punched me in outrage when I broke my spaghettis in two to fit my pan, this is actually the kind of stuff they take pretty seriously
If you break the spaghetti why even take spaghetti instead of other type of pasta that are shorter
my parents broke the spaghetti in half so it's easier for us kids to eat it. it stuck all through the years. first time I cooked spaghetti for someone outside my family, they freaked that I broke the spaghetti in half. I didn't understand the problem lol.
That's because there is no problem. Eat your pasta however the hell you want.
Food gatekeepers are pathetic.
What is the problem? Does spaghetti lose something in the bonding when broken? Or is just everyone agreeing not to break it because other people said it’s wrong?
What if my spaghetti of twice as long as yours and I break it in half?
Because they want the shape of spaghetti, but not foot-long noodles on the plate. Breaking it is fine.
I'm a chef and I've made metric tons of pasta by hand, from chitarra to papardelle to tagliolini to agnolotti to sacchetti. Using whatever length you want for pastas like spaghetti is completely fine, despite whatever Reddit comments tell you.
I like your funny words magic man
Comments like yours are why I comb through to Reddit threads. Thank you, person.
I've been trying to find a reason to give out my free award for a couple days. Your comment is just so positive to the guy above you, you deserve it. I also like to deep dive into comment threads for fun and nice things.
Honestly, why is food taken so fucking seriously? I'm German and i couldn't care less if someone wants to put chocolate on his Schnitzel.
Short answer: dumbasses who can't compartmentalize see it as an insult to their (grand)mother's cooking. Scales up depending how nationalistic they are.
As long as we all agree taco bell is barely food, let alone Mexican food, we'll all get along well.
I agree with both of these statements and would just like to clarify these statements can be true, but Taco Bell is still objectively amazing.
I wish Mussolini got captured by the allies could have tortured him by slowly breaking pieces of spaghetti in front of him and throwing chunks of pineapple at him
Wtf is wrong with u
My god that’s worse than the entire Holocaust
What is worse is when a perfectly cooked plate of pasta is served, and the heathen breaks out a KNIFE to cut the pasta!!!
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?! IF SPAGHETTI WERE INVENTED FOR BEING BROKE, THEY WOULD BE ALREADY BROKE
Never break the spaghetti!!!!
Then fucking cook it until you can fit it all, what kind of fucking maniac breaks spaghetti?
Take this from a non-Italian
Lol I like the shape and it cooks faster.
I do it for a bil who loves spaghetti but he has cp and it's just way less of an ordeal for him, it's how his mom used to make it for him, so I will too.
He can scoop and stab and feed himself with utensils, but twirling pasta onto a fork isn't happening without assistance, which he doesn't want.
What he loves specifically is baked spaghetti, I'm sure I get a black flag just for that, but the cheese physically helps alleviate how useless the smaller noodles are at delivering sauce, so I don't really mind at all.
It feels a bit more like a casserole then spaghetti, but it's not a deal breaker for me, I enjoy it well enough too.
Three pieces btw. I break it into three pieces.
I regret nothing.
Breaking spaghetti is a sin tho
I lived in Sicily for a year, and was dating a Sicilian. Breaking spaghetti is fine. Using jarred sauce is not.
This whole “if it makes you happy thing” needs to go.
There are standards, my friend.
We live in a society!!!!!!
This thread is full of people who unironically are the exact people this meme is making fun of.
thank you my italian fellow, for your service for the nation.
If you do that again, I'll buy a plain ticket with borrowed money to come punch you in outrage!
Some of my freinds are italalians they dont like that stuff maybe its just there opinion
Italians hate pineapple on pizza
Every italian hates it
Sadly, there are some monsters among us too.
yes we hate it
I'm not offended by pineapple on pizza I'm just fruit racist
we don't harass people who put pinnaples on pizza
we harass the pizza
How does one harass the pizza lmao
by throwing it into a trash can?
You are doing it a favor, it won't be eaten
it will, but not by humans
Oh boyyy, here come the racoons
This will make a fine addition to my collection
I WANNA BE EATEN BY RACCOONS CHOMP
trust me. as an italian, that's not how it works.
As Italian, I say that you can do whatever you want, but please, don’t order pizza with pineapple or banana here in Italy.
Ok here the deal. What you say is not totally correct yet not totally false.
BUT, no actual italian would be happy of someone who split on something that in Italy is seen as an image of the country.
We take pride in out food and cousine. If you ask an italian if he consider cooking a form of art, he will say 99% yes.
I saw some French eating pasta with tomato souce poured on top (from the fridge)
I witnessed a Japanese putting pasta, eggs and bacon in water thinking he was making carbonara…
We have plenty of things that are wrong and doesn’t work as the should, but food is not one of that things.
I’m totally in that 99%
Yeah, ketchup pasta exists. I rather eat pasta raw or just cooked without sauce than that thing again.
Tomato sauce put like that isn't ideal, but it won't taste badly. There are worse things, like fucking ketchup on pasta...
But is pizza all'ananas really that much wierder than say tonno e cipola or gorgonzola e pere? I fail to see how pineapple in particular is heretical.
Might be a bit too acidic, but then you just make it a pizza bianca.
It doesn’t matter where you are, cooking itself everywhere is an art form. What you make as long as you’re happy with it is a masterpiece that you or/and others get to enjoy
I am Italian and I tried it. I would have enjoyed more the pizza without the pineapple, but it's not that monster everyone freaks about. 5/10 would eat if offered but I wouldn't order it myself
Yeah people think it’s revolting when it’s just… mediocre? There are plenty better condiments but everyone gets stuck on pineapple for some reason.
Redditors need to hate some things way too much, otherwise they can’t get karma from low effort memes
"Imagine harass someone for having their own taste"
*proceeds to bully everyone who likes tiktok*
Except Tiktok deserves the bullying for being a fully-connected Chinese platform.
An actual real italian enter the chat
Wait, I know people don’t like it but there’s people who actually get offended? Wha- why?
never seen anybody get offended about this in my life. OP might have made it up
How dare you like the shit I don't like!
No, 14 y/o white redditors are right.
Signed: an Italian
Some of us like the mozzarella on our pizza
Bruh yes we are whiite
You mama'd your last mia
As an Italian I can say you're right, but if there's one thing that scares me, is the pineapple on pizza
Damn! They put bananas too!!! It’s insane
What about people who break the pasta before putting it in the pot
Italians do say it’s bad tho...
My uncle once put a clementine on pizza and i know that is a war crime to the people who say things like that
One of the local places around here does a bacon and mandarin orange pizza, it wasn't what I'm used to but it wasn't bad
I’m Italian this is propaganda we must fight back
..Italians are white though lol. You aren't exactly the brightest bulb, are you OP?
Why just white redditors
White people bad give me karma.
I don't give a shit if it's offensive toward Italians, it's just gross.
Dude I remember telling this to this girl my friend is friends with and she was like 13% Italian and got mad at me for insulting her culture
That was some american girl without a oersonality that wants to be part of something. She isn't italian
That is true, my personal opinion against pineapple on pizza is that its soggy pizza and warm pineapple
It's alright! All it matters is that you find a combination that you could enjoy!
My beef is all that plus taste. I cant stand mixing pineapple and meat, its awful lol. I hated it as a kid mom would serve pineapple and pork chops
One pizza with doritos ple-
Clearly you don't hang out with Italians
Im italian i i think that the pinepple on pizza shoulb be illegal
Why is it ok to attack 14 y/o white girls? I get it’s been a meme, so has “Karen”, but wtf why is the internet so hostile towards white women?
Why did it have to be white….
Causal racism against white is always okay.
Actually the original pizza wasn't at all that random. The ingredients all represented the color of the flag (tomato for red, mozzarella for white and basil for green) and was called "Margherita" to honour the current queen, Margherita di Savoia.
Yes you can pretty much put anything on a pizza and it probably works but it's far from random
That said, don't put pineapple, please
10€ a chi bestemmia
Pineapple on pizza isn't a crime against Italians. It's a crime against humanity.
Most Italians when pineapple is put on pizza: So you have chosen death?
Pineapple pizza freakin slaps tho and I won't hear a word against it
NO YOU FUCKING IDIOT
This makes me very happy.
Pizza with boneless chicked or Pizza with pineapples, Pizza is love ♡
what about chicken with bones
Risky pizza, I like it.
Glad to be of help :)
Noi this Is offensive to italian
Posted by 14 years old italian
Why not vb and giogio *sad italian noises*
I'm Italian and i still hate it, anyway here you couldn't find a single place that would make pizza with pineapple so don't ask if you like it
Offensive towards Italians? I don't know about that, but it is offensive to everything good in the world.
Get out of here with that bullshit. Pineapple on pizza is an affront to god himself.
im Italian and ananas on pizza should be illegal
Plus it was a greek invention
That’s just untrue.
Pizza is not throwing random stuff on a bread base, there are recipes even for that ._.
This is just stupid been around a while and never heard someone say this and I have defended pineapple on pizza to a lot of people
Pineapples on pizza is trash. Don’t worry tho, you can say the opposite even tho you’re wrong.
I don't care what you do with your pizza. But keep that pineapple the fuck away from mine.
Good, more for meeee
Hawaiian - America
Pizza - Italy
Hawaiian Pizza - Canada
It is true that pretty much anything can go on a pizza. I have had pizzas of all kinds, while in Sicily, but as an Italian I can confirm that Pineapple on pizza is in fact offensive.
My old teacher used to say that pizza was a great meal for the poor, since all you need is basic stuff that most households would have like flour, water, salt, some meat and vegetables, but it's a meal for the whole family at the same time, si yeah, put whatever you got on the pizza, or nowadays, whatever you like.
But put mayonnaise, corn, and squid on something and I'm the crazy one. Whatever guys.
Its not that i wanna stop people from putting pineapple on pizza, its just that pineapple on pizza is inherently evil. And im just trying to spread awareness about it.
I imagine the animator that put that in Gumball is pretty happy
Switch Reddit with Twitter and your acurate
I’ll respect the opinions of any who either agree with or oppose mine. With that said, pineapple on pizza is absolutely horrid.
