3,000 Health Care Workers In France Have Been Suspended For Not Getting A COVID Shot
By - cal_oe
Actually 3000 isn't a large number considering the population is more than 67 million people and 1 million care workers.
Fucked around, finding out.
This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2021/09/16/1037895102/france-covid-19-vaccine-health-care-workers-suspended) reduced by 75%. (I'm a bot)
> French Health Care Workers Suspended For Not Getting A COVID-19 Shot : Coronavirus Updates French law had set a Sept. 15 deadline for the country's 2.7 million health care workers to get vaccinated.
> France's health minister has said that thousands of health care workers across the country have been suspended without pay for failing to get a required COVID-19 vaccine.
> French regulations set a Sept. 15 deadline for health care employees to have at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine and show a negative coronavirus test as a condition for working, unless they have an exemption for health reasons or because they've recovered from COVID-19.

That’s horrible… because they don’t want a shot they are punished
Operational readiness and health insurance are employers factors to consider.
Their body, their choice. Choices have consequences.
I’m sure you’ll say the same when this turns against you.
It won't because I actually understand what's happening.
Sure you do
A lot more than the unvaccinated idiots, for sure.
No, they don't want to follow standards and help protect others.
They aren't team players.
If you are scared or want protection.. go get a dog or buy a gun
I have both.
You intentionally confuse fear with precaution. That is a grave, ignorant and ego driven mistake.
Fear of a virus that has a vaccine that still lets you get the virus.. right
Precaution to minimize the effects of a potentially deadly virus.
You lock your front door at night? Lock your car up when you park it? Keep a loaded weapon around the house?
Why? Somone can still break in.
You don’t inject anything in order to do that
No vaccine stops absolutely everybody from getting the disease. Vaccines can not prevent you getting something, they can only help your immune system fight it more readily.
Haven’t gotten polio or chicken pox
You might have had one of them at some point, then your immune system fought it off. Congratulations, vaccines work! Just like the COVID vaccine.
No covid vaccines don’t that’s why they are wanting you to take so many
You sound like my father. He's also an activax nutter.
I have all my vaccines , just not this one
so you dont have all your vaccines then....
They dont get to kill innocent people because they’re too stupid to get a shot. They’re now unemployable. Maybe you're a monster ok with killing others off but normal people are not.
And what they did before the whole vaccine doesn’t matter? Being there in the beginning doesn’t matter anymore because they don’t want to inject something in their body?
If you don't want to help protect the I'll people coming into a hospital you probably shouldn't work there.
They can choose not to get the vaccine all they like, but the hospitals also don't have to expose patients to that extra risk, either.
Your right to free speech lets you go ahead and run into a crowded movie theater (or other venue) and shout "bomb" or "they've got a gun" or similar, your speech is protected but it doesn't protect you from the consequences of those actions. Similarly you're free to not get a vaccination, but you must be prepared to face all the consequences of that action (or lack thereof in this case I guess) from not being able to go some places, not be employable in certain environments, and even getting sick from this disease including up to dying from it.
Ahhh I see.. so keep selling cigarettes.. making someone take something to help others is y’all’s argument, people kill themselves by smoking and kill others with second hand smoke, but yet we don’t talk about that because why? Nobody should be forced to quit a job or be let go cause they don’t want to take a shot
What do you mean "people kill themselves by smoking and kill others with second hand smoke, but yet we don’t talk about that because why?"?
We took big tobacco to court over and over to prove cigarettes caused cancer and an entire group defended the cancer! You obviously weren't old enough to recall. So called conservatives supported the tobacco industry!
They supported blowing their smoke into everyone elses lungs as "their right" .
How do you think the term "second hand smoke" came about? Why are those crazy labels now required to sell smokes? Why is a pack of smokes so expensive? Why can't you smoke in restaurants and bars?
Why can't you smoke on planes or public transportation?
Still legal.. just like fast food and alcohol… things that kill more people than this cold
So you're for making cigarettes illegal?
Cool. Let's do it.
I’m for taking a vaccine that keeps you from getting what it’s made for
Well it keeps people from dying 99 to 1. Scoreboard.
We do not address the above comment about cigarette legalization.
>What do you mean "people kill themselves by smoking and kill others with second hand smoke, but yet we don’t talk about that because why?"?
OP forgot it's illegal to smoke indoors in most public spaces because of the issues of second hand smoke, too.
Nobody talks about the danger of cigarettes?
It kills more people but yet is still legal to buy
So is alcohol, but it stays legal to sell, too. But making it illegal only gave rise to bootleggers who made fortunes selling the then illegal beverage. But better to keep it legal and regulate it.
But the better example for you would be how smoking is now illegal in most public indoor spaces, for the good of others. You still want to smoke and risk lung cancer and such? Fine, that's your choice, but you'll have to do it outside regardless of the weather... or if you have your own private home to smoke in. Even apartments are banning smoking in their units, too.
